Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - The Ethiopian ICT Park, a cornerstone in Ethiopia's ambitious strategy to advance its technological sector, hosted the grand opening of the "Stride Ethiopia 2024" tech expo lastweek. This flagship event marks a significant milestone in Ethiopia's effort to establish itself as an African hub for technological innovation and enterprise.
Mr. Henok Ahmed, CEO of the park, shared his enthusiasm about creating a world-class technological infrastructure coupled with robust policy and regulations designed to attract leading tech companies locally & globally. "Our aim is to position Ethiopia at the forefront of the tech industry, not just in Africa, but globally. The policies and regulations that we've working to be implemtnted are tailored to foster innovation and ease of doing business," said Ahmed.
The event showcased a vast array of technological advancements from resident companies specializing in artificial intelligence, agriculture, tourism, education, e-commerce, manufacturing, and services. Demonstrations highlighted how these innovations could drive economic growth and solve local as well as regional issues.
Mr. Ahmed emphasized the park's role in facilitating collaboration among public sectors, stakeholders, and the vibrant community of tech companies that call the ICT Park home. "We are not only providing a space for businesses to grow but also ensuring there is a synergistic relationship between these businesses and the broader socio-economic goals of Ethiopia," he explained.
